In honor of NCIS's anticipated return from strike-induced obscurity... teh silliness!!

(Is anyone still around? It would be great to see more activity here. ^_^)

yup, definitely our snarky astrophysicist there! Welcome to the SGA fandom, we're always glad to have new converts. =D Are you watching the new season or the dvds?

Thanks! XD Heh, none really; some friends sat me down with the latest episode the other day and I was instantly won over. Still figuring out how to start.

Well, I'm an advocate of beginning at the beginning...which would be Rising parts 1 and 2 of Season 1. Season 1 is good, Season 2 is ok but I think I'm a little biased there because I'm a McKay/Weir shipper and Season 2 is a bit too Sheppard/Weir for my tastes. Season 3 has some really good episodes (Sateda and Tao of Rodney) and some really bad ones (Irresistible and Irresponsible). Just FYI.

Good luck!

Great information -- I'll look out for all that stuff! *grins*

How's the old series? Do any of the characters carry over?

SG-1? There was a great series, though i stopped after Season 8. The early seasons were the best, imo. I would definitely recommend, but they aren't necessary to watch SGA.

Some of the characters have guest spots on SGA occasionally: Jack O'Neill and Daniel Jackson in 'Rising', Samantha Carter in 'Grace Under Pressure' and she's in Season 4 a lot, but on the whole you don't have to have seen SG-1 to know what's going on. Even with Weir and McKay, who were first introduced on SG-1, you don't have to have seen those episodes to know the characters. (though I watch 48 Hours and Redemption for the McKay bits anyway. Oh and the first Weir was played by a different actress with blonde hair. Strange!)

Oh, yay! I like Sam. *grins* This should be fun!

(Whenever a character is played by two different actors, like Obi-Wan Kenobi or Saavik or Dumbledore, I just decide they're secretly Time Lords, which adds whole new dimensions to the plot. XD)

Yes, I like Sam too though don't let the rabid-Weir fans find out...they're still a bit miffed about Season 4. =D

Time Lords, that's a fun idea! Huh, could make a good fanfic...

Hahaha! Well, I'll just have to see what happens.

Multifandom crossover ficathon of doom of all time? XD *jots it down in my plot bunny list*

Throw in NCIS and you have Tony as the Time Lord second cousin of Weir, and he hitches a ride in the Doctor's Tardis to Atlantis where he finds out that Abby is the last descendant of the head of the Ancient council.

I...think I just gave myself a headache. =D
